The luxury tourist ship 'Bay One' has started sailing on the Chittagong-St. Martin waterway. Bay One St. left for St. Martin's at 11 pm from Patengar Ghat No. 15 in Chittagong on Thursday. Will return from St. Martin tomorrow Saturday.
The minimum fare from Chittagong to St. Martin, including Asa, is four thousand rupees per person. The maximum rent for a luxury cabin for two to four people is Rs 60,000. Tickets are available at the counter and online. Karnafuli Ship Builders Limited, which operates the ship, has set a regular departure schedule from Chittagong three days a week from next month.
Karnafuli Ship Builders Limited organized a press conference at Patengar Ghat No. 15 on Thursday on the occasion of the ship's voyage again during the tourist season. Abdur Rashid, managing director of the company, said Bay One was launched on the Chittagong-St. Martin route last December under the supervision of Karnafuli Ship Builders Limited. One day's fuel cost to operate the ship is 21 lakh rupees.
Abdur Rashid said, "If the government helps, we will be able to bring 10 times bigger ships of Bay One to bring and take the pilgrims." It used to take a month to go for Hajj. It is now possible to reach Jeddah in eight days. Pilgrims on the ship will not suffer. Ships have more range than airplanes. '
